Calling All Daydreamers
I have a confession to make:
I’m a daydreamer.
I spend a whole lot of time thinking about the places I want to go, things I want to do, the people I want to meet. I fantasize about a life that will be mine – one day – and spend hours dreaming about how I’m going to make it happen.
But recently, in a conversation with a friend, I had the realization:
God doesn’t need me in my daydreams. He needs me where He put me.
He has me, right here, right now, for a reason. No matter how big or exciting my dreams are, they’re just that – dreams. But this moment, this is real. Am I embracing it? Or am I just longing for the next adventure?
Dreams are so good. Often, dreams are from God Himself. It’s a good thing to plan and to pray big. But it’s just as good and important and necessary to be where you are right now.
What might God need from you in this season? Who might He be calling you to love? How might He be calling you to grow? What seeds is He planting right now for the next season? Being present allows us to let God work in our reality.
So when my dreams inevitably sweep me off into the future again today, I’ll plant my feet on the ground and offer those dreams and this moment to the One who gives all good things:
“Lord, I entrust everything to You: my dreams, my hopes, my heart, and this very moment. I trust that You have me here for a reason, and I trust that this reason is good. Help me become more aware of Your presence in the present. Amen.”
In Christ,
Jane

St. Joseph’s Feast Day is March 19!!
I’m a huge fan of St. Joseph, and his feast day is upcoming on March 19! If you’re looking to learn more about him, check out this awesome article by Gabriella Doyle, “Stalked by St. Joseph” or “Patris Corde: Six Reflections on the Year of St. Joseph.” St. Joseph, pray for us!
Obsessed with Brother Isaiah’s “Shade: Season 2” Album
Okay there are so many good songs on here, that if I started listing them I would list them all. But topping the list would be Gratia Plena, Let me Lead, and Simple Light. Actually, listen to them all. The absolute perfect plane album!
Hello from Colombia!
I’m in Colombia this week with a bunch of friends for Spring Break! It’s been so much fun to explore this insanely gorgeous country (and especially to run into every church we pass by!). We’re staying right by San Jose (St. Joseph’s) church, and they have an incredible area set up to prepare for his feast day this weekend! Check out all of the statues below!
